Brie and Fruit Appetizer

This is one of my go to appetizers, it is really simple to make and looks quite pretty, with the upcoming big game this will be a step up from the chips and bean dip.

Heat oven to 375 degrees, you will also need a mini muffin pan

Ingredients:
  • Ready made pie crust
  • Brie
  • Raspberry pepper jelly or jam - you can use any dark berry jam ones flavored with chipolte go especially well with the cheese
  • Whole Pecans
Unroll pie crusts, I roll them slightly to make them a bit thinner then cut into circles, I use a mug to get about the right size. Place cut circles into muffin pan press down into shape of pan, with leftover dough you can re-roll and continue to cut circles.

Bake shells for 12-15 minutes to cook, I try to get them to brown slightly. Remove shells from oven and fill with Brie, I usually just eyeball it a few slices to about tsp in each cup. Return to oven for 3-5 minutes until brie is melted into shell, remove garnish with pepper jam and one whole pecan, serve warm. These can be reheated in the oven, so they transport well.
